An offline survival copilot for when GPS and networks fail: on-device first-aid triage, a solar/star compass that finds true north, and medic-to-casualty translation — all running locally.
At an on-device hackathon, choosing a scenario where connectivity is gone is about as tight a fit as you can get. These are not features that could be shipped off to a server and still make sense; the requirement to run locally comes from the situation itself, so the reason for using the runtime is the same as the reason for the product. Narrowing to triage, direction and translation — the three things a rescuer actually reaches for — also shows it is not a bag of demos.
